Perast, Kotor and the bay
Fjord-like and ringed by mountains, the Bay of Kotor is best seen without a timetable. We give you real time in two of its towns and stop whenever the bay opens up in front of you.

Kotor
The plan
Perast
Stone palaces, a tall bell tower and two islets in front of the town. Take a boat out to Our Lady of the Rocks if you feel like it.
Kotor
The old town at the end of the bay, all lanes, cats and little squares. Eat here, or climb the first stretch of the walls behind it.
Viewpoints
The drive back has several places to pull in, and Muhamed picks the best ones for the light and traffic of the day.
Good to know
Passports or ID cards are needed at the border, and summer queues are the reason we leave early. The island boat and the Kotor walls each have their own fee.
