Kravice waterfalls and Mostar
Water and stone in one day: a ring of waterfalls you can swim beneath in summer, then the Ottoman lanes of Mostar around its famous bridge.
We set off early to get to the falls while they are still quiet.

The plan
Kravice
The Trebižat tumbles over a semicircle of mossy rock into a wide green pool. In summer people swim right up to the spray; in spring the water thunders.
Mostar
Cross the Old Bridge, walk through the bazaar and have lunch. With a bit of luck you will see one of the divers jump into the river.
The Neretva valley
The drive home runs downstream with the river, through orchards and small towns to the coast.
Good to know
The border needs a passport or ID card for every passenger. Kravice charges an entry fee at the gate. Swimmers should pack a costume and shoes with grip for the wet rocks.
